Miscellaneous Thoughts on Mothers

EDITOR’S NOTE: Though today is the day our nation celebrates the secular holiday known as Mother’s Day, let us not forget that every Sunday we celebrate “Father’s Day” — God, our Father, that is! —MS
Some men were discussing the various versions of the Bible.  After they were finished giving the pros and cons of each Bible, a man who had been silent spoke up and said, “The best version of the Bible is the one my mother lived!”
A godly mother will point her children to God by the force of her example as much as by the power of her words.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. —Ephesians 6:1-4
