Thanksgiving

In the second chapter of the book of Acts, we read of how the first Christians were baptized into the church. We also read of their enthusiasm and love for one another. We see how they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and continued in fellowship with each other.

Acts 2:46-47
46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Those of us who have submitted ourselves to baptism today also share in the same blessings that they did. Most of us will gather together with loved ones to celebrate Thanksgiving this week. But we should be thankful every day and especially today. We are gathered today to worship our Lord, who has granted us the blessing of being saved. This motivated our brethren in Acts chapter 2 to change their lives and have a grateful attitude.

May we be a reflection of their thankfulness as we live for our Lord.
