In 1870 a church official made this statement: “The millennium is at hand. Man has invented everything that can be invented. He has done all he can do.” That man was Milton Wright, the father of Wilber and Orville, inventors of the airplane.
How shortsighted we can become! We look at what we are doing as individual Christians and as a church and might think that nothing more can be done. Can we limit the work of Almighty God with our lack of imagination and industry?
Jesus said, “I must work the works of Him that sent me while it is day, for the night cometh when no man can work.” (John 9:4)
Look at what is being done by the church worldwide and locally. Consider it well! Then try to find better ways of teaching, converting, serving the community, and performing other phases of the work, and see if you can’t come up with even more ideas of serving.
