Truthseekers great commission

When Jesus Says to You, “Let Us Go”

Jesus arose “very early in the morning” (Mark 1:35, ESV), “a great while before day” (ASV), and “departed to a solitary place” to pray. His disciples found Him and told Him, “Everyone is looking for You” (1:37). Notice how Jesus responded. He did not say, “You go and preach in the next towns.” He said, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also” (1:38).
The “let us” is particularly encouraging. First, Jesus took His disciples with Him when He went preaching. How wonderful that must have been for them! Secondly, He did not send them out on their own. He was going with them! Jesus said, “LET US GO!”
His Great Commission to us is just like that. First, He tells us to “Go” (Matt. 28:19). But, is He sending us out to preach on our own? Not at all! For in the next verse, He assures us, “I am with you always.” It is as if Jesus is saying to us, “Let us go and preach!” He is with us! When you attempt to reach out to someone with the gospel, remember that you are not alone!
