Make a Choice

There is a famous game show called “Let’s Make a Deal.” Contestants have the opportunity to choose what’s behind several doors. In some cases, they find something bizarre or worthless, so they groan and are disappointed about what they have “won.” But in other cases they find something very valuable and jump up and down, rejoicing.

Have you considered that our choices in life are sort of like “Let’s Make a Deal?” We can choose the way of the world, or choose God’s way. There is no in between.

Matthew 6:24
24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

If we choose a path of trying to please ourselves and the world, we will be left with nothing in the end. But if we choose to serve and please God, we will be rewarded with eternal life and joy beyond measure. Here an account of someone who made a great choice and rejoiced because of it:

Acts 8:36-39
36 As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch *said, “Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?” 37 And Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” 38 And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him. 39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch no longer saw him, but went on his way rejoicing.

Choose the way that will make you (and God) rejoice!
